Hi everyone,
I know that the ASMR community is growing by a minute so there is really not much to say to introduce this, but maybe some of you don't know it yet, so I'd like to talk about it a little bit and maybe show you my favourite ASMR artists and my favourite videos.
ASMR stands for autonomous sensory meridian response. The theory is that everyone has their own trigger. For many people these are sounds, such as brushing your hair, scratching ears or tapping sounds, there is also a number of people who need visual triggers, like slow hand movements.
Once you have found your trigger, you can find a video on youtube focusing on your magic sound and ta daa, if you are lucky enough, you will soon feel the famous tingles.
Tingles could be described as the soft tickling sensation on your head or on the back of your neck. I get them very rarely myself, but I still watch ASMR videos because I find them incredibly relaxing.
A lot of the ASMRists have a 3D microphone, meaning that if you wear headphones while watching these videos, even with your eyes closed you know to which one of your ear they are talking to. Really cool ones are the 3 Dio microphones that basically look like ears and have a mic in each one of them.
Some people are saying that they are finding the ASMR to be erotic, but this is not the case for most of the people who watch them.
Let's have a look at my favourite ASMR Artists.
My ASMR knight in a shining armour, the one who always calms me down no matter what, is Paris ASMR. His name is Flo and he is from (unexpectedly) Paris. What I love is that he is usually mixing French, English and German in his videos, switching between them like there's no tomorrow. He is an extremely creative man and also sings in a duo Cassandre.
You can see that he really dedicates time to his videos, and his hard work is paying off as he just celebtrated 60 000 subscribers and his channel has nearly 6,5 milion views.
My favourite video that I could watch over and over again on this channel is the one where he is talking about macarons, showing what flavours he bought today, tapping on them and eating them.
All of Flo's new videos bring me joy, but the above one with macarons just works. Every. Single. Time. Unfortunately Flo's settings do not allow to play videos on other websites apart from his youtube channel, so I can't show you a video here, but make sure to check the video I'm talking about right HERE.
The other channel I can't live without is a Korean talented woman named Miniyu. Just like Flo, she is updating her channel very often, so there is no shortage of new videos. Miniyu was born with talent for ASMR. She is trying to discover the sounds of everything. Put something in her hand and she will start tapping on it, just to see what sound it makes.
She is very creative as well and is always coming up with original ideas. I mean, who else would think of bringing a freshly cooked lobster in front of the camera. The sounds of that are actually incredible but the idea that they are made by tapping on a dead lobster are not exactly working for me. Another thing that Miniyu does are these "cooking shows" videos, when she would act as if she is preparing a meal, but is using all weird kind of stuff, such as soap, earphones or cosmetics.
Make sure to check her channel HERE.
